About Myself

HELLO THERE, I'M HEIDI!🤗

An avid Digital Designer & Marketer and aspiring Event Planner, born and raised in the vibrant diverse city of Vancouver, BC with Hong Kong descent. I am currently a freelance Digital Designer & Marketer while also learning the ropes of being an Event Planner at Chatterbox Marketing and Events Planning.

I am a graduate of both: Marketing Management 2017 and Digital Design and Development 2020 programs from the British Columbia Institute of Technology School of Business and Media. I love combining the concepts of limitless creativity of design/media and engagement & execution of business together to leave an imprint and impression on many minds. This led me to be curious about the infinite possibilities of creating something special for myself and others. Being part of this field is highly innovative, dynamic and ever-changing, where I live for the thrill of it!

When I’m not working hard, you can find me: training, teaching and performing Lion Dance & Kung Fu, kickboxing, playing badminton, dodgeball, ultimate, multisports, going on hikes, capturing photos and videos, watching sitcoms, attending concerts, traveling and trying hidden local food gems in Vancouver and around the world. I can speak, read and write English, Cantonese, Mandarin, can read, understand and speak a little bit of Korean and am beginning to learn Japanese.

I wear multiple hats in my roles and responsibilities. You can call me an all-rounder as I have a wide range of interests and hobbies. I am always open to acquiring new skills and experiences that allow me to improve myself as an individual while discovering my limitations. Being part of the Millennials and Gen Z generation, my passion and interest in the digital world have truly shaped who I am today. The fast-changing world is definitely our playground!

Senior Instructor, Event Coordinator and Creative Director of Bak Mei Vancouver Kung Fu and Lion Dance

I have been training Kung Fu and Lion Dance since I was 8 years old in the historic Chinatown of Vancouver, BC and I am still currently active with it. I volunteer my time to teach, perform, manage, and help bridge the traditions, culture and knowledge of Bak Mei Kung Fu and Lion Dance to our association’s next generation and communities.

Digital Marketer and former dancer at the Colours of Dance Academy

I learned and performed Chinese Dance from 2010 until 2020 at the esteemed Colours of Dance Academy in Richmond, BC. After my years of training, I currently manage the Academy’s digital marketing, website, branding and online presence. Through my time dancing at the Academy, I got to participate in a few international events such as: The Youth International Dance Festival in Macau 2012, Taoli Cup Dance Competition in LA 2018, and CCTV Lunar New Year TV program in Beijing 2019.
